Gift Idea – I See Me! Personalized Christmas Books #Giveaway

I See Me

The Christmas right after Bryson turned one, we went overboard with gifts.  So overboard that I think we overwhelmed Bryson and we ended up putting several of his gifts away until months later.  We are determined not to do that with Bella.  She is getting a few toys, another car seat, and one absolutely adorable board book from I See Me! My Very Merry Christmas is an adorable personalized board book with forest animals that come together to put on a very merry Christmas for your child. … [Read more...]

Saving Savvy Book Review – You can live better on less. #Giveaway

Saving Savvy

I can remember the first time I really used coupons.  It was in October of 2008 and I was 7 months pregnant.  After spending hours online browsing coupon blogs and websites, I headed to Rite Aid.  I walked out with a bag full of medicine and after rebates, it was almost all free.  The thrill was as exciting as the money saved!  Since then, I've gotten thousands of dollars in free products. The good news is that if you haven't couponed a day in your life, you don't have to spend hours … [Read more...]

Ride the Dinosaur Train for a Spooky Fun Halloween #Giveaway

Dinosaur Train Halloween

Dinosaur Train is a favorite around our house.  I know the theme song by heart.  We watch the show on PBS, we watch it on Netflix, and we read our Dinosaur Trains books at least once a week.  I even made some rainbow Dinosaur Train cupcakes.  Most recently, we added a new Dinosaur Train book to our book shelf.  It's called "The Spooky Scavenger Hunt" and we received it just in time for some fun Halloween bedtime reading. … [Read more...]

Breakfast & Books Literacy Campaign- Scholastic & Kellogg #Giveaway

Scholastic-Kelloggs

Reading is something I've always enjoyed.  My parents never had to make me read, because I wanted to read.  Now that I have kids of my own, I hope to instill my love of reading in them.  We've started using Before Five in a Row and I read to Bryson before bed every night.  When I say "It's bedtime, Bryson."  his automatic reply is "You read a book to me, mommy?" and my answer is always "Yes." I am thrilled to announce that Scholastic and Kellogg have teamed up on a back-to-school … [Read more...]

Early Learning with Before Five in a Row

Before Five in a Row

It blows my mind that I have an almost three year old.  Seriously.  Blows. My. Mind.  Just tonight as I was tucking him into bed, he started singing the VeggieTales theme song.  He picked up a book and started “reading” to Bella earlier tonight too.  I love that!  I ordered the Before Five in a Row curriculum recently.  I’m not sure if “curriculum” is the right word, because it’s very flexible and is more about learning through literature and every day life.  We are … [Read more...]

New on Our Reading Shelf

I still have piles of books from when I was a kid.  I was very protective with my things and most of them are in excellent condition.  Now, I read those same books to Bryson and it’s so fun to open them and see where I scribbled my name and phone number inside the front cover.  Maybe so someone could give me a call if I ever lost the book? It’s always nice to add new books to our reading shelf though.  This month, we received three children’s books to review. God Gave Us You … [Read more...]
