I became the proud owner of my first smartphone in March. I resisted, but when my cell phone (the third one in a year) bit the dust, I decide to replace it with an iPhone 4s. Since then, I’ve turned into one of those “HOW IN THE WORLD DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT THIS PHONE!?” people. Those people use to annoy me and now I am one of them!
Over the next three months, I will be working closely with the folks at Verizon as a Verizon Wireless Ambassador. I received a Droid Incredible as part of my participation that I am currently getting to know… when Bryson isn’t begging to watch Thomas the Train on it because of the massive screen size!
On Saturday, I attended a benefit in memory of my dad’s best friend. They were enjoying a day out on the river back during July when he had a massive heart attack and drowned. A local group of volunteers, the Scottsboro-Jackson County Rescue Squad worked through the night to find his body. They didn’t go home, they didn’t sleep- they worked tirelessly to give Doug’s family and friends closure. Several local businesses donated to the benefit dinner and all of the money raised from the delicious plates sold went directly to the Scottsboro-Jackson County Rescue Squad- a total of $2,600!
Where does Verizon come in?
When I sat down to eat at the benefit, I noticed some Verizon fans so I asked around and sure enough- our local Verizon store donated a case of fans to help keep everyone cool at the benefit. That’s the kind of company that I’m happy to represent and I’m excited to work with them as a Verizon Ambassador!
So from now until November, I’ll posting here, tweeting, and updating on Facebook as part of my Verizon ambassadorship.
I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
