Today is an exciting day for me and for you too, hopefully. Why? I get to share one of my absolute favorite products in the entire world- the Ergobaby carrier. Was that a wee-bit dramatic? Yes. Is it true? Yes! The Ergobaby carrier has changed the way I parent.
With Bryson, we tried several different carriers, but it took a while to find “the one.” We lugged around a stroller for most of his infancy. Now, I’m not dissing strollers, but after finding the Ergobaby carrier and realizing how comfortable it can be to wear your child, our stroller became abandoned. I only wish I had found the Ergobaby carrier when Bryson was younger.
When Bella was born, I felt completely at easy with baby wearing. She and I went everywhere together thanks to the Ergobaby carrier.
Have you ever tried to grocery shop with an itty-bitty baby? You have a few options 1) Place the infant seat in your buggy which leaves no room for groceries. 3) Place the infant seat on top of the shopping cart which is dangerous and not recommended. 3) Carry a stroller, but I’m not sure how you push a shopping cart and a stroller? 4) Wear your baby. All problems solved.
Bella and I did almost all of the shopping together from the time she was a few weeks old thanks to our Ergobaby carrier. She was born with a head-full of beautiful, dark hair and it caught people’s attention like crazy. Everywhere we went, people would stop me to comment on her hair. There is NO way a baby can fall out of the bottom of the Ergobaby carrier. It wraps around your waist and buckles, so babe is completely secure.

I never got to use an Ergo carrier with my first daughter but used a Mei Tei. I love baby wearing and the closeness it brings for mom & baby. It’s also nice that while baby wearing you can still do household stuff too!

i had an infant insert for my ergo and hated it! I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t get it to work well, and I ended up giving up until my little one was about 4 months, then using the ergo on its own

I currently have the moby wrap and I do like it, but there are things I really DON’T. Having three kids 3 and under and the youngest being only 3 months, it seems a baby carrier this would be awesome right now. The moby is missing the support and leads to backaches and sweaty babies!
I have a Moby wrap too. I wore it a few times when Bella was a newborn, but quickly came back to the Ergobaby carrier.

One of my favorite features of the Ergo is how easy it seems to be to wear your child on your back. One of the things I like the least about the Bjorn and Moby Wrap are the fact that I can not wear my little one on my back. Now that he is older, I believe he would like it a lot more, and it would also allow me to get more things done. (Ever tried cooking hot food while wearing your eight month old in the front? It is not fun.)

I love how convenient carriers are, and I didn’t even have a great one the first time around. Had to stop using it as the kid got too heavy, even though the carrier still lists him as within the weight limits, because it wasn’t well designed. I would love to have a more ergonomically designed carrier this time around, to really get the full benefits of use!
