On Wednesday night, we had the great pleasure to attend the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: Get the Sillies Out! Tour in Huntsville, AL at the Von Braun Center Concert Hall. Having never been to anything like this, I had no idea what to expect. My hopes were high for a great family nigh with my husband and kids and let me tell y’all- I was not let down. We arrived about 30 minutes before the show and there was confetti everywhere outside the concert hall. That was my first clue that it was going to be a fun night! I picked up our tickets then we waited for them to allow everyone in the concert hall. We walked in to floors covered with confetti and saw this:
We were very happy with our seats. Our kids were extremely well behaved and I knew the night was going to go smooth. That was a relief! The lights were dimmed, the speakers began to boom, DJ Lance appeared, and then confetti fell from the sky. The show started with a bang!
All of the characters joined DJ Lance on stage and soon, we were asked to stand and dance with them. It was amazing to see so many parents and kids dancing like crazy and having an awesome time. My favorite thing about the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: Get the Sillies Out! show was that it was totally interactive with the children. The audience was up and dancing, jumping, wiggling, and getting the sillies out almost the entire show. It was so entertaining not only for the children, but for the the adults too. I didn’t see a single person that didn’t look like they were having the time of their life!
There was a short 20 minutes intermission during the show which gave us plenty of time to take the kids to potty and get a drink of water. We were allowed to bring drinks and snacks inside the Von Braun Concert Hall which was nice, especially since the kids wanted a snack during intermission. We were impressed with the Von Braun Center staff as well as the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! event staff. They were very helpful, had smiles on their faces, and were exactly what I would wish for kid’s show.
After intermission, DJ Lance and Yo Gabba Gabba! gang were back on stage. Special guest Leslie Hall also came on stage to beat-box and several children were asked to join her. It was adorable and the parents got a kick out of the little ones on stage. The music, dancing, and lights were fantastic all through the show.
Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: Get the Sillies Out!
The crowd (especially the kids) went wild near the end of the show went tons of bubbles appeared. It made for an awesome effect!
Then, it was time to sing goodbye. I would say the show timing is near perfect. It’s not too short or too long- it just right. That’s not to say we couldn’t have lasted several more hours, because we were absolutely having a blast! If you have the opportunity to attend the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get the Sillies Out! tour, go for it! You will not be disappointed. While we didn’t have VIP tickets, I saw some other parents at the show who said they thought it was completely worth it and were glad they had opted for the upgrade.
