The Little Critter series was one of my favorites growing up. It still is, actually. Believe it or not, I saved most of my books and now read those exact same books to my children. Mercer Mayer has created over three hundred titles and he seems to get it right with each one. From the characters and the colors to the cute and jumbled photos, I always know that when I see “Mercer Mayer” it’s going to be a fun read.

I wasn’t surprised when this book arrived and I instantly found myself in awe of the illustrations. In true Mercer Mayer fashion, this book is a hit with mom and the kids. The four sections in this book- ABCs, counting, bedtime, and neighborhood each provide entertainment and learning opportunities. I love that this is an “around the clock” book. We can pull it out at any time during the day or night and learn or relax before bed. I hope that as Bryson gets older, he comes to love and appreciate the works of Mercer Mayer like his mama does!
