Bausch + Lomb Biotrue Review

I got my first pair of glasses in the sixth grade.  I picked out an awesome, retro pair that I still have today.  At the time, I only needed to wear them during school.  By seventh grade, I needed to wear them all the time, so I started wearing contacts.  It’s a shame I didn’t inherit my dad’s perfect vision!  Instead, I took after my mom who was legally blind when she had Lasik eye surgery.  I’m too chicken to have any kind of surgery- even something like Lasik.

I’ll be the first to admit that I probably don’t take care of my eyes like I should.  I’m better about it than I use to be, but still not that great.  I wear them way too long and rarely take them out.  A lot of times I don’t realize that I’ve had them in for too long until my eyes start to burn and get irritated. 

Either way, I seem to have sensitive eyes.  If the sun is too bright or the sky is too overcast, my eyes hurt and water like crazy.  I have to remember to keep a pair of sunglasses in each vehicle or else I end up wearing a pair of my hubby’s.  Each time I put on eyeliner and mascara, I know I’m taking a chance of making my eyes runny and bloodshot.  Most of the time, I skip eye make-up for this reason.

I’ve been using the new Bausch + Lomb Biotrue multipurpose solution for the past few weeks.  I’ve made sure to do everything else as I normally would, so the only thing that has changed is my contact solution.  So far, I’ve had excellent results.  I’ve worn eyeliner and mascara with no problems.  I even went as far as to sleep with my eye make-up on.  Still, no problems with burning or bloodshot eyes.  That alone has me sold!

The formula feels a little thicker than others that I’ve tried.  I’m not sure if it’s just me or what, but that was one of my first observations.. and I like it.  I haven’t had one instance of my eyes burning since switching to Biotrue.  I find that amazing, because every other solution I’ve used hasn’t fixed the burning problem. 

I know this has nothing to do with the product, but I’m a sucker for packaging.  Biotrue comes in the coolest looking bottle.  I was out shopping the other day and a package caught my eye as I was walking down an aisle.  I stopped to look & it was the Biotrue box.  I thought that was crazy, because I was just walking by.  So, you definitely won’t miss this in stores.  If you need another reason to try this product, the entire package is recyclable.  I think that’s awesome!
