Back to School Organizing

Some items featured in this back to school organizing post were provided by Staples.  All thoughts and opinions remain my own, as always.

August is here and that means our local schools will be back in session soon.  As a homeschooling family, we don’t follow the same schedule so we won’t begin school until September.  August will be dedicated to finishing up our new school room, organizing and planning for the upcoming school year, and going on a family vacation!  On a whim, I decided to finally transform Bella’s room into the play & school room we needed which will help me keep the rest of the house in shape.

Our new school room is still very much a work in progress, but it’s getting there and I hope to share the details soon.  One of my favorite organizing items we use for school is the 10 drawer rolling cart.  I use it to sort and store Bryson’s school work and games for each week.  I reset it each weekend so I’m not scrambling to find what I need each day.  It holds books, his All About Reading curriculum, craft supplies, worksheets, puzzles, games, etc.

My mom has this same rolling cart and she uses it in her bathroom to store make-up and hair accessories.  The possibilities are endless and it’s such a handy little cart to have around.  Before I created our school room, the 10 drawer cart had a home beside my desk in the kitchen and dining area.  Have I mentioned how glad I am to have a school room!?  I’m sure we’ll still “do school” all over the house, but I’m so thankful to finally have an area to store everything together, in one spot.

Another one of my favorite things lately is the high back manager’s chair from Staples.  My old office chair was so worn out that it was near embarrassing.  I wanted to take a picture to show y’all, but my husband said that was a bad idea, haha.  It was missing the fabric in places, the padding was gone, and it was uncomfortable.   It was actually Justin’s idea to replace it with the Staples Turcotte Luxura chair and I’m so glad he mentioned it.  I was so use to my old chair that I didn’t realize how badly it needed replaced!  I spend a lot of time in front of my computer and I have been thrilled with the new chair from Staples.  You cannot beat the $59.99 price tag either- totally worth it!
