Hello, Baby Brynlee!: Pregnancy {Week 19}

Baby Bynlee is the size of a mango!

How far along:  19 weeks

Due Date: December 5, 2013

Maternity clothes: I ordered some that should be here today (Motherhood Maternity had a great 4th of July sale) and then we plan to go shopping sometime during July to pick up a few more pieces.  Until then, I’m still living in stretchy shorts, t-shirts, and dresses.

Sleep:  Still waking up at least once a night to pee.  Bella’s sleeping habits are out of whack too.

Best moment of this week:  Finding out Baby B’s gender!

Miss anything:  Sleeping through the night

Movement:  This is the first week that I’ve felt her moving throughout the day.

Food cravings:  Still loving pizza!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nothing grilled or barbequed, which stinks since it’s summer and we love to grill!

Have you started to show yet:  Yes!

Symptoms:  I had my first bout with heartburn this week.

Health/ Appointments:  Our ultrasound was last week, but Brynlee is so low that we could barely see her face.

Gender:  It’s a GIRL!

Names:
Brynlee Elizabeth Paula.  She has 3 names like Bella and we wanted first name to start with a B.  Brynlee has been our favorite girl name since the beginning.  We chose the spelling Brynlee because Lee is Justin’s mawmaw’s middle name.  Elizabeth is one of my favorite girls names and Justin and I actually had not discussed it as a middle name, but it came to us both separately after our ultrasound.  He came home from work and said “What about Brynlee Elizabeth?” and I had written it down in my notebook as a suggestion too.  Paul is my dad’s middle name, so we went with Paula after him.

Belly button in or out:  In.

Wedding rings on or off:  On.

Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy, but definitely a little irritable.

Shopping for Brynlee

Shopping for Baby B: Because I have all of Bella’s clothes saved, I don’t need anything in that department.  I had saved up some gift cards to buy a few outfits for fun, so I ordered those after we found out she was a girl.  I’ve also ordered a couple Hello Kitty diapers.  She doesn’t really need anything at all, so I plan to splurge on a few items like a Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack and aden + anais blankets

Reactions from Bryson:  Bryson was not happy when we found out she is a girl.  Not happy at all.  We knew he wanted a brother, but we thought we had talked about it enough that he would be okay either way…  and he is okay now, almost a week later, but those first few minutes in the ultrasound room were not the joyous moments every mom wants.  In fact, he was so disappointment that I lost it and sobbed on the ultrasound table.  No joke.  That wasn’t fun.  I felt like she was girl, but I wanted him to have the brother he had hoped (and even prayed) for so it took me a few hours to gather myself and get excited.  Thankfully, I confided in some blogging friends and was surprised that each of them had gone through gender disappointment with their children (not that they were disappointed, but an older sibling was) so that helped ease my mind and I know that it’s normal for the older kids to get upset if the baby isn’t what they hoped for.  Bryson is good now and even calls her by her name now.

Reactions from Bella:  Bella continues to be very involved with my pregnancy, talking to the baby, telling her that she “loves her to the moon and back,” and on and on.  She has been very moody lately which I think has a lot to do with her realizing she won’t be the baby anymore.  She will always be my baby though, no matter how many babies come after her.  They will all be my baby.  She is happy that she is going to have a sister, but isn’t quite looking forward to sharing her toys.

Looking forward to:  I’m feeling Brynlee move often now, so I’m just waiting for the day that Bryson, Bella, and Justin can feel her from the outside.

  • I can’t believe you are already 19 weeks! I LOVE the name you have picked up and it flows nicely with your other kid’s names. That’s fun that you are feeling lots of movement, that has to be my favorite part of pregnancy. You need to post some belly shots!

  • Yay for a girl! Congrats! I love those picks you featured, so bright and fun! My son wasn’t happy when he found out I was having twin girls but he loves them now! 🙂

  • I’m so excited for you! We haven’t had to deal with siblings being disappointed, but my husband was. This next one, there might be too…

Also, those clothes are adorable! I’ve always loved shopping for girls.

  • Congrats on the baby!! I also had most of what I needed for my baby #3, I instead splurged on some aden & anais (love that stuff!) pieces like sleep blankets and burpy bibs. I am sure the boys will come around. My kids are currently adoring their 1-month old baby brother. It is so sweet. 🙂

  • Mason wasn’t super thrilled to be having a little sister for a while he kept telling me he was having a brother and a sister thanks to an episode of Dora that he watched (thanks a lot Dora). Once she was born he was fine though and completely over it!

Now he says that if I have another baby he wants another sister!

I can’t believe you’re almost half baked! It’s flying by for me 😉

  • Such cute clothes! I have a one year old niece and I love spoiling her with fun new clothes. You’re going to have fun buying PINK 🙂
