If you were an animal, which animal would you be? I’ve heard that question several times. I remember my mom telling me that it was even posed to her in a job interview once. Have you ever thought about a piece of furniture that is just you? If you could wrap up your personality in a piece of furniture, what would it be? What would it look like?
I think I would be an accent chair with a traditional design, but a modern fabric. When I think of an accent chair, I think how you usually find one sitting quietly in the corner and you may walk by it several times before noticing it, then it catches your eye. Fortunately, accent chairs can’t talk and share their strong opinions, of which I have many, but they are sturdy, strong, and long-lasting. I am a quiet person and I don’t mind sitting in the corner people watching, but if you strike up a conversation, I can turn into a chatterbox.

Now, I don’t quite share Emily’s attachment to my furniture, but eventually, I’d love to have a few pieces from Havertys. I love that there are so many fabric choices and designs. One day, when I no longer have to worry about smeared peanut butter and juice stains, I’d love to purchase and design a few pieces to match my personality.
