I’ve saw some fabulous coffee tables all over blog-land. The one thing they all have in common is that they are not piled up with junk and are decorated all pretty. We don’t have room for a coffee table, so we just use end tables. I try to keep them cleaned off, because cluttered surfaces drive me batty. (Just don’t look at my desk!) Most of the time, you’ll only find a lamp and a remote on our tables.
This is on my DIY list. Love the chalkboard top!
Even if we did have a larger living room that would fit a coffee table, I don’t think I would have one. During this season of life, I much prefer the room for crawling babies and toddlers who are obsessed with Thomas the Train. I rearranged our living room and traded couches with my parents just so the kids would have room to play in the living room. If I were to put a coffee table in there, I’m pretty sure it would quickly turn into a train table and coloring table and quite possibly result in a busted lip from a rough toddler.
So, I’ll continue to drool over the awesome coffee tables I spot, but I’ll also remember that I wouldn’t trade this time in my life for anything.
