Must Have Children’s Books

This giveaway is now closed & the winner has been contacted via e-mail.

I admit that I have a thing for children’s books… and that I don’t read them near enough.  We have over 100 children’s books (many that were mine when I was a child!) and I really should start a bedtime reading routine with Bryson.  We were recently sent a couple new books to read and I think they’ll be great to kick off our bedtime reading.

God Gave Us the World

About this book:

Different bears, different places—the same wonderful Creator.
Little Cub is learning about all the different bears in God’s big world, and asks Mama Bear to help her understand God’s creativity and her unique place in his creation.
Little Cub learns the importance of God’s diversity, that his creation is a gift to us, and that each bear is special to him.

I may be the only parent that hadn’t heard of the God Gave Us booksby Lisa Tawn Bergren.  You can’t help but fall in love with the colorful cover and the delightful pictures all throughout this book.  I could see designing a nursery around it- the pictures are that pretty!  Beyond the pictures though, the message is so meaningful.  “Every bear has a special place in God’s great, big world.”  That is the entire premises of this book and it is one that I certainly want to teach my kids.  Without a doubt, this is one of my all time favorite books.  I will be ordering the rest of the God Gave Us booksto share with Bryson and Bella.

You can purchase God Gave Us the World on Amazon.com.  Right now, it’s on sale for $8.79 and ships free with Prime.

The Dragon and the Turtle

About this book:
Brave explorers aren’t afraid of the dark—at least, not when they’re together.
Padraig the dragon and his best friend, Roger the turtle are determined to spend the whole night outside. As brave explorers at the base of Mount Sillymanborrow , the boys use their imaginations to have fun while munching on crunchy baked bugs and toasting s’mores over their campfire. But when the sky gets dark and the sounds of strange animals fill the forest outside their tent, their safari gets scary. This adventure is just what the boys need to discover that the dark might be frightening, but their friendship is stronger than fear.

The Dragon and the Turtle Go on Safari is the next new book in our line up.  Bryson loves turtles, so this one caught his eye right off.  It is another book with a much needed message: overcoming fear and being courageous.  At the moment, Bryson isn’t scared of anything, but I know those days are coming and I’m glad to have such an adorable book to share with him.  It includes a bonus short story and page of conversation starters to discuss with your children.

You can purchase The Dragon and the Turtle Go on Safari on Amazon.com.  It is currently on sale for $8.63 and ships free with Prime.

Do you have a reading routine with your children?  I’d love to hear about it!

We received the books for review, but no other compensation was provided.  All opinions remain my own, as always.
