Instead of buying jar food, I opted to make Bryson’s baby food. It was fairly easy and I liked knowing exactly what he was eating. I didn’t have to worry about added ingredients when I made his food in my own kitchen.
Infantino and Annabel Karmel have introduced a new line of baby products to help moms make their own baby food. I was very excited to open the box and see so many new and helpful products. I plan to make Bella’s food too, so I can’t wait to put these items to use.
If you choose the make your own baby food, you will quickly learn that it works best to cook in bulk. The first food I made for Bryson was mashed sweet potatoes. I found it best to freeze the potatoes in cubes, so I could easily pop a few out and heat them up at supper time. The Annabel Karmel Food Cube Trayis great for this. It has (9) 1 ounce food spaces, is BPA free, and freezer & dishwasher safe. It also features an easy pop out design. The bottom green part is silicone, but the top lid is hard plastic which makes these stackable.
A baby food mill is something I didn’t have when I made Bryson’s food, but something I wished I would have bought. The Annabel Karmel Baby Food Millis ideal for cooked meats, pasta, fresh fruit and veggies. It purees and minces to make food easily digestible for babies. Another thing I love is that it is also dishwasher safe and of course, BPA free. I had no idea that using a blender breaks down starches (like potatoes), so I am glad I will have this when Bella is ready for some sweet potatoes.
You can find these and other Annabel Karmelproducts at Amazon.com.
Infantino recently redesigned their website, so be sure to check it out here. You can also keep up with them via Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube.
I am a participant in a Mom Central Consulting campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation.
>This is such a great idea! Making your own baby food would save so much money. It never occurred to me that you could do that!
>The mill looks like it would be helpful next time I have a baby.
>Oh wow, how cool! Looks awesome, wish I had one when the kids were eating baby food!
>This looks so great. Since having my last child in September I have been thinking of trying to make my own foods. I hate all the additives that they areadding to stuff these days. Thank you for the review of this, makes me really think I should start looking into this idea now before he is ready for solid food.
