Marie Callender’s for Dinner & Dessert

We’ve now tried three flavors of Marie Callender’s dessert pies and all three were winners.  We also finally tried the Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies.  With Pi Day coming up on March 14th, what better time to try Marie Callender’s Pie, right!?

I was talking on Facebook last night about how hard it is for me to write food reviews.  What I really want to do is just say “Marie Callender’s products taste great.  They require little to no effort, but you’d think someone spent hours on each pie.  The end.”  Because, really, that’s what I think.  Justin stopped by the store to pick up a Marie Callender’s Banana Cream pie and the Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie.  He wanted to buy another Dutch Apple Pie, because it was so delicious.  I told him we needed to try a new flavor, since we’ve already raved about the Dutch Apple Pie.  Marie Callender’s Banana Cream Pie is an easy thaw & serve pie.  There is no baking involved, just let it thaw in the refrigerator over night and you are ready to go.  It was so tasty too.  It reminded us banana pudding.

We could only find the individual Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies, so Justin brought home a 4 pack of those.  We baked them in the oven and followed the directions to the letter.  They turned out perfectly and our family went through all 4 small pies.  These were definitely a success because even the kids cleaned their bowls!  We rarely cook frozen foods for dinner, but we will keep these on hand for those nights when we want the taste of a homecooked meal without the piles of dirty dishes.  Justin also mentioned that he wants to try the Marie Callender’s lasagna he spotted while picked up the chicken pot pie.
