Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I can’t think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving day than surrounded by food and family. We’ll be traveling for Thanksgiving this year, so I won’t have the chance to cook something for the meal. For other family get-togethers, I usually bring a side or casserole. I’ve always felt like I needed to bring something homemade for it to be “good enough.”
One taste of Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie and I realized that my notion that I had to cook something homemade was wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I believe that I could walk in with Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie at any of our family events and everyone would not only love it, but request it for future gatherings. No one would mind that I didn’t pour hours into it, because it’s taste like I did.
It’s a simple as placing the pie on a cookie sheet, baking for about an hour, crumbling the included topping over the pie, and the returning it to the oven for another 10 minutes. The hardest part is definitely waiting for the pie to cool! My husband impatiently when I baked the Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie Sunday evening. He asked me several times if it was cool enough to eat and when he finally got a taste, he raved about it. He ate two slices and told me it was the best pie I’d ever made. 🙂
As I was writing this post, I grabbed Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie out of the refrigerator and finished the last of it off. I wanted to make sure I had done enough research, haha. You know a pie is good when you can’t even write about it without eating it! Today, I am definitely thankful for an easy, no stress dessert that I would feel great serving to anyone.
Be sure to print a money saving Marie Callender’s coupon before heading to the store.

Looks yummy!
Looks good…
We just moved into our first house after living with my parents for 3 years (thanks economy). So we are excited to do Thanksgiving here. My 96 year old grandma called me and said she was coming over for Thanksgiving and she was bringing the pies. I told her she didn’t have to cook pies – come on she is 96. She said oh no she wouldn’t be baking them, she would be buying Marie Calendars pies because they were so good. So on Sunday when my parents and kids took her grocery shopping, she purchased her 2 pies and was telling my daughters how great they are. So I guess I will be tasting my first one on Thanksgiving!
Let Brian and my mom cook! LOL I will make up for it when I decide to bake my Christmas cookies!
We are going out for Thanksgiving! But I am still making stuffing to have at home for “leftovers.” I can’t get enough lol!
That looks delicious
I plan everything in advance as best I can so that I am not super stressed.
I slow down by making as little as possible from scratch and assigning different foods to different people. For instance, my boyfriend LOVES apple pie but I can’t stand apples so it’s up to him to provide that. My mom and sister both want green bean casserole but I hate green beans as well so thats up to my sister. My dad wants turkey so he gets to do that. I want ham and pea salad so those are mine to do. ALL desserts are store-bought except pumpkin pie since thats Dads fav. Hes diabetic so we make that one with fake sugar. Everything else gets written down and every person that comes is responsible for at least one thing.
We have a new baby this holiday season, so we’re definitely keeping it slow and relaxed as much as possible. <3 With three little people in the house now, we are starting more and more to keep what is *really* important about our traditions and throwing the rest out the window. 😉
I plan to share memories with my siblings around the dinner table.

Thanks, Carly. The correct prompt was showing up for some, but not others, so it must have been a Rafflecopter glitch. No one will be disqualified because of their comment.

I eat so much this time of year…and this is one of the reasons!! LOL!! 🙂
We are taking more time to enjoy experiences this year. A cup of coffee with a good friend, an evening looking at lights, movies and popcorn in PJs

I try to do more before, so I can have quality time with my sons
I’m already done! We are loving the christmas movies and visiting with friends and family!
Pie helps, plus I’m going to savor the holiday by spending time with my family
I agree. People stress out over the holiday by trying to do everything. Slow down and enjoy the TIME with your family that’s what counts. Cooking everything yourself and presents are not as important as the moments you spend together.

I plan to make time to sit and relax with my family and watch some Christmas movies.
Everyone shares in preparing and bringing the food as well as the clean up afterwards.

Last year I spent a lot of time obsessing about getting gifts taken care of early, but ended up running into a lot of problems in doing that, this year, I have not been making a big deal about it, and it has been a lot less stress.
