When I first read about the Honeywell True HEPA tower, I was a bit skeptical. How could something so small actually clean the air? I had heard of the Honeywell name though and knew it was a reputable company, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did.
As soon as it arrived, I tore into the box. The instructions are easy to follow and it includes everything you need. The are two HEPA filters that you remove the plastic from and reinstall. These filters just snap in so it’s no big deal. A carbon filter is also included and you have to install it which consists on simply sliding it into place. That’s the extent of the installation- plug it in, turn it on, and you are in business.
There are three levels- low, medium, and high. On low, you can barely hear the machine and on medium it’s quiet. It reminds me of a regular ceiling fan when turned on high and I’ve found that it doesn’t interfere with anything else going on in the room. We can still converse, watch TV, whatever- it just sounds like a normal fan on high.
The big question is- does it really work? I have absolutely NO doubt at all that it works. I was very surprised at just how well and how quickly it worked, honestly! Within a few minutes, the air smelled different- cleaner. I’ve found myself bringing it into the kitchen while cooking to help tone down and get rid of the food smells. It’s lightweight and has a place to pick it up, so it’s easy to move from room to room. It offers a sleek design and flows with decor. I love it when a product is function and pleasing to the eye!
They suggest that you sit it out 3 feet from the walls while using it. I’m not sure why, but I assume to help circulate the air. The manual also suggests that you keep the area around it clean and dirt free. As much as I sweep, that isn’t a problem. It sucks the air through the filter, then blows out on the other side so you catch a little breeze too.
For a product that I wasn’t totally sure about, I am thrilled! I couldn’t be happier with the Honeywell True HEPA Towel Allergen Remover.
