Sleep is a precious thing. It’s something I totally took for granted until I become a mom. As a kid, I would sleep until noon. Now, I’m lucky to see 8AM and that’s only after getting up 368,632 times during the night. If your child started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks, I assure you that I do not want to hear about it. Ever. Bryson didn’t sleep through the night until around 18 months and at this rate, I’m guessing it will be that long or more for Bella. So, when I do get the chance to sleep, I want it to be good sleep. I certainly don’t want a little sunshine to wake me. If I get to sleep that long, of course.
Room darkening curtains are a must-have. We have put them throughout our home over time, room by room, and we recently added Sound Asleep curtains in our bedroom. On the off chance that I can sleep past the sunrise, these curtains keep the light from waking me. I chose to go with the grey set because it coordinates with our light grey walls. As you can see from my photo, these curtains do not totally block out the light. It comes in around the sides and you can see the outline of our window, but they do a good enough job for me. I wish I would have had these when I worked third shift! Here I’ve used two panels and two valences to make the window seem larger. I like the way it looks!
