With fall over and winter here, it’s time to winterize our homes and vehicles. As part of my regular routine, I made sure our vehicles had antifreeze and checked the tire pressure. I handle most of our basic auto maintenance like oil and brake changes. We don’t ride our ATV much during the winter. I added STP MultiPurpose Motor Treatment to help stabilize the fuel so it would be ready to go again in the spring.
STP MultiPurpose Motor Treatment is not just for winterizing vehicles. You can use it to give your vehicle a quick liquid tune up. It can be used as a fuel additive in boats, chainsaws, weed eaters, lawn mowers, tillers, motorcycles- almost anything gas or diesel powered. If you drive an older vehicle, especially one with a carburetor, this can be a helpful product with cold starts during the tough winter months. STP MultiPurpose Motor Treatment can be poured in the crankcase to help clean deposits and engine gunk. You can do the same before your next oil change to make it cleaner and more gas effiecient.
To use this as a fuel additive:
- Know the size of your gas tank. If you aren’t sure, you should be able to find this in your vehicle manual.
- Know how much gas is currently in your tank. It would probably be easiest to fill the tank so you are sure.
- Pour 3/4 oz. of STP MultiPurpose Motor Treatment per gallon of gas straight into your gas tank.
It really is that easy. Anyone can do it!
I use several STP products already like Octane Booster and Fuel Treatment, so this is just another great product from them to add to my automotive maintenance routine.

Great info, totally something my husband would read and take note of!
Hmm … gotta admit, I knew nothing about “winterizing” vehicles. I’ll share this with my hubs maybe he’ll do it for our van!
So glad that there are these people called Men that take care of this sort of thing 🙂
Great post and great pictures! Got to get the hubby out to get some stuff winterized still!
Great idea! I know I have some winterizing to do to get ready.
This might be a good thing to look into for my 1960 Mercury Comet!
totally something I wouldn’t have known without this post. Thanks!
Thank goodness we don’t need to winterize anything here! ha ha
THis is great information! My husband is the go guy for this, so I am bookmarking and will show him. THanks so much sharing!
