How Do You Do Tummy Time?

Infantino makes some of my favorite baby products.  I used their activity gym and jumbo play mat daily with Bella for the first 6 months.  They really hit it out of the park with those two products and I would recommend them to anyone.

So, when I heard about the new Right Angle Tummy Triangle made by , I was sure that it was going to be awesome.  Then it arrived and I was like “Really?  This is it?”  Now, I guess I should mention that I’m not a firm tummy time enforcer.  I don’t roll my babies on their bellies and let them cry for any amount of time.  I believe that when my babies are ready to start using those muscles and spending time on their belly, they will.  And so far, that has worked with both children beautifully.

On a second note, I don’t like to have a lot of baby gear either.  I prefer products that have multiple uses, lasts for months, and are easy to store.  So, a product with one purpose isn’t really something I would purchase in  the store.

With all of that said, the Right Angle Tummy Triangle isn’t for me or our family.  It’s basically a piece of sloped plastic with a removable and washable pad.  Then it has a toy bar attached with a mirror and a cute toy  The toy bar has 3 different positions to accommodate as baby grows.  There is a music box that plays music for 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 10  minutes and to me, that’s the best part.  I don’t like that it is in no way attached to the product though, so it could easily get misplaced.

If you are a worry wart when it comes to tummy time, this product may be for you.  I personally feel that you can achieve the same results without dropping $40 on a product that you’ll only use for one purpose.

Even though I wouldn’t purchase this product, this video they put together is absolutely adorable.  As in, it makes me wish I liked this a little more, haha!

  • i had trouble with the product (I received one to review as well) also. For me my 2 month old would wiggle and either end up scooted down the ramp falling off the bottom or would wiggle himself to where he would fall off the side edges if not grabbed and repositioned. This would happen in a very short time, not like he was on it for 10 mintues or anything. He is very very active wiggly for his age, so maybe for most babies this would not really be an issue but for him its not even safe unless someone is right there like glued to his side ready to catch him.

He did enjoy the music sounds on this. but like you said, for the price you don’t get much.

  • That doesn’t look safe. What if the baby topples over the side or slips down. I think the same results could be gained from laying the baby on the floor with a blanket and putting toys in front of her. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Thanks for the review. I am another that doesn’t force tummy time. I was looking at this thinking maybe it would make tummy time easier but again it’s the one purpose thing and used for such a short period of time. I am cheap, especially the second time around.
