As part of my plan for February, I’m focusing on myself. I think as moms, we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget about or don’t make time for ourselves. As much as I love my family, I have a need for alone time. I always have and that didn’t change just because I became “Mom.” Sometimes, I feel badly for wanting to be away from them, but I’ve found that by taking that time, I’m a much better wife and mother when we come back together. Thankfully, Justin is great about taking the kids to play or visit family. He never makes me feel guilty for wanting that time, so I need to quit making myself feel badly for taking an hour or two to myself.
Some ways I’m going to focus on myself during February:
– take at least an hour per week to myself and know that it’s for the best
– try out the Shaklee Cinch plan
– drink at least 6 glasses of water per day
– take a relaxing (meaning NO kids screaming at the door) bath once per week
– start using skincare products (is it too soon to look into anti aging skin care lines?)
– get my hair trimmed (something I haven’t done since November 2010! Yes, you read that right.)
– ask for help when I need it
– go to bed by 10:30PM on weeknights
