Breakfast & Books Literacy Campaign- Scholastic & Kellogg #Giveaway

Reading is something I’ve always enjoyed.  My parents never had to make me read, because I wanted to read.  Now that I have kids of my own, I hope to instill my love of reading in them.  We’ve started using Before Five in a Row and I read to Bryson before bed every night.  When I say “It’s bedtime, Bryson.”  his automatic reply is “You read a book to me, mommy?” and my answer is always “Yes.”

I am thrilled to announce that Scholastic and Kellogg have teamed up on a back-to-school literacy campaign.  Their key message is “Read every day.  Lead a better life.”

“Research also shows that having books in the home and reading frequently has a significant impact on improving student achievement:
 “Whether starting the day with a healthy breakfast or helping their kids learn to read, parents want to do everything they can to set their children up for success,” said Kris Charles, Kellogg global vice president Global Communication and Philanthropy, Kellogg Company. “Through this program with Scholastic and Walmart, we at Kellogg hope to make it a little easier for parents and caregivers help their children foster a life-long love of reading.”

 This fall as parents fill their shopping carts with new backpacks, school supplies, and snacks for back-to-school at Walmart, they’ll also have the opportunity to get a free book from Scholastic Book Clubs! Select specially-marked Kellogg’s products, including  Raisin Bran®, Mini-Wheats® Little Bites Original, Nutri-Grain®, Eggo®, Pop-Tarts®, Cheez-it®, and Rice Krispies Treats®, which are available now exclusively at Walmart. Parents who buy two of these products can redeem the codes found inside for a free $5 coupon for a free book from Scholastic Book Clubs or the Scholastic Store Online.

This campaign doesn’t end until 7/1/2012 and there is NO limit on the amount of books you can redeem!

Giveaway

One winner will receive a Breakfast & Books prize pack (valued at over $65) that includes classic books from Scholastic Book Clubs, an assortment of delicious products from Kellogg’s and a $15 Walmart gift card.

Mandatory Entry

To enter, tell me about your favorite book to read with your child(ren). This is mandatory and must be completed before any other entries.

This giveaway is open to US mailing addresses and ends at 11:59PM CST on October 2, 2011. Winner will be chosen via “And The Winner Is” and notified by e-mail with 48 hours to claim prize.  For more information, please see the Official Rules.
