After reading this post by Andrea over at MommySnacks.net, I was inspired to tell my own story about a special Christmas ornament.
Each year, since the year I was born, I have received or bought for myself a new ornament. Most have my name engraved with the year, some do not. I can tell you about each one, the year, the reason I picked it, etc. November of 2002, on a trip to Wal Mart, I went ahead a picked up my ornament for that Christmas.
As some of you may know, we lost our home to a fire on November 19, 2002. The ornament was sitting on our kitchen counter. Very few items made it out of our home and only two survived the flames in the kitchen- my mother’s iron skillets and my Christmas ornament.
The tree had not yet gone up, so the ornament was sitting on the kitchen counter just waiting to be hung. How this simple, small ornament made it through is a mystery. I have only one guess- I think God needed me to witness it. Through such tragedy, many lessons were learned. This? This is just one of them.
Christmas is Love.

>That is truly an amazing story. The only thing missing is the story behind that particular ornament. Merry Christmas!
