Three Years Ago & Giving Thanks

Today, I give thanks for so many things.  I am so blessed with a wonderful family, an amazing husband, and two beautiful children.  Three years ago, I walked out of the automotive plant I worked at for Thanksgiving break and also, maternity leave.  As much as I hated it, I planned to go back to work after I used up my full leave.  Thankfully, things don’t always go as I plan them.  Sometimes, there is a much better plan and this was one of those times.

When all was said and done, I never went back to work.  Because the economy tanked, employees were offered a severance package and doors were opened that I never imagined were even possible.  My dream was not only possible, but it came true.  I became not just a mom but a stay at home mom.

It’s Gravy, Baby! started shortly there after and it was and still is a hobby that I love.  Now though, I have the best of both worlds.  I am able to stay home with my children, but I also have a “job” that I enjoy.  It took a while, but I now realize that I am a work at home mom.

Instead of a cubicle, I have a small desk in our kitchen.  That’s my work space.  Well, there and the couch, ha.  Because I don’t have a dedicated office, I need my desk and my office chair to match the decor and style of our home.  So, I’ve been browsing and I’ve found some really cute chairs that work as office chairs and as additional seating when guests are over.  Wanna see?
