Monday Mingle – Pet Peeves, Tempers, and Cooking Disasters

It’s been a while since I joined in for Monday Mingle, hosted by Eighty MPH Mom. I had a quiet moment last week when both kids were napping, so I took advantage of it and shot this quick video.  To be totally honest, I don’t enjoy shooting vlogs at all, but I do like pushing myself out of my comfort zone.  Watching a video always makes me feel like I’m getting to know the person behind the blog a little better than just reading typed words.  I know some folks don’t have a good connection or just don’t want to take time to watch a video, so I typed of the questions & answers below too.

Don’t you just love how flattering the preview image always is for video? Me too.

This week’s questions:

1. What are your Top 3 Pet Peeves?

  • People who use car seats incorrectly, refuse to use them, or turn their children forward facing at a super young age- like 5 months.  And yes, I really know people that do all of the above.
  • Women who choose to be induced for no medical reason, just because they are eager to meet their little one or are tired of being pregnant.  I did this with Bryson and since then, I’ve researched and I cannot believe doctors even offer elective inductions!
  • The fact that my husband rarely puts his shoes away.  He’ll even sit them right beside the shoe organizer- just not in it.  Choosing my battles and this isn’t one of them!

2. Do you lose your temper easily?

  • When it comes to differing opinions, no.  I love to hear what other’s think and enjoy the back-and-forth.  Nothing wrong with a healthy discussion!  I do lose my temper with the people I love most and usually over completely stupid stuff.  Guilty as charged.  Just ask my hubby.

3. What is the biggest cooking disaster that has happened to you?

  • I attempted a meatloaf last year out of a freezer cookbook.  My husband and mom both make terrific meatloaf, but I didn’t get their recipes for some reason.  It was so bad that we just ate the sides I had made, mashed potatoes and green beans.  The dog wouldn’t even eat the meatloaf, haha.

So that’s it for this week.  If you are joining in, be sure to let me know so I can visit.   Tomorrow, I’m sharing a recipe for one of my favorite comfort foods- chicken and dumplings!  Slow cooker style, of course.  That’s just how I roll lately.

Happy Monday, y’all!
