Blast Zone Hydro Rush Inflatable Water Park Review {Giveaway!}

BLAST ZONE HYDRO RUSH INFLATABLE WATER PARK GIVEAWAY

Now that the weather is finally warming up, we are spending our days outside enjoying the sunshine.  I have a feeling this is going to be the best summer yet thanks to the Blast Zone Hydro Rush Inflatable Water Park we received for review.  Swimming pools make me overly anxious with little ones around, but our summers are too hot to play outside without water.  The Blast Zone Hydro Rush solves our water dilemma and is better than a swimming pool for our family. Blast Zone Hydro Rush Set Up One of my main concerns surrounding large inflatables is the set up. I expected it to be a daunting task that required a lot of effort and quite honestly, my patience wears thin with that kind of thing. That could not be further from the truth with the Blast Zone Hydro Rush Inflatable Water Park. Set up is an absolute breeze. Normally, with any large item, I wait on my husband to help me. On a whim, I decided to try out the Blast Zone Hydro Rush while he was at work. It was 80 degrees outside, … [Read more...]

10 Toddler & Preschool Toys That Last

10 TOYS THAT LAST

We are currently in the process of purging our toys.  The kids have so, so much and it's my fault.  Truthfully, when it comes to toys, less really is more.  I've found that our quality toys are played with over and over again while others are simply dumped and strewn about.  Today, I am sharing 10 toys that have lasted in our home.  Now, Bryson is only 4 so I can't say we've had these toys for 10 years, but these toys have stood up to both of my not-so-gentle kids and are played with often.  I am linking up with other bloggers at the iHomeschool Network for a Ten in Ten blog hop.  Be sure to click over and check out their most recommended toys too! Tonka Mighty Dump Truck While brainstorming for this post, the Tonka Mighty Dump Truck was the first toy that came to mind.  Why?  Bryson received this truck as a gift for his first birthday and it is one of our most played with toys even 3 years later.  He has pushed this truck all over the yard, he would ride in the dump … [Read more...]

The Trip – Little Critter GamePak Free Sunday (4/21) ONLY + Autographed Book {Giveaway}

Little Critter The Trip app

I loved Mercer Mayer's Little Critter books growing up.  Because they were some of my favorites, I kept them and read those same books to Bryson and Bella.  Now, they've introduced Little Critter games and apps and we were given the opportunity to review the The Trip – Little Critter Reading Adventure app for the iPhone.  Bryson can be picky with which apps he truly enjoys and this one made it to the top of his list almost immediately.  Just yesterday morning, he woke me up asking to "read his book" on my phone.  It is a fun app full of little hidden surprises and educational games, so I have no problems allowing him to play it. The Trip – Little Critter Reading Adventure ($3.99) Based on Mercer Mayer’s classic book of the same name and featuring his incredible original artwork, The Trip – Little Critter Reading Adventure invites children to travel along with Little Critter and his family on an action-packed road trip.  Kids can help Little Critter choose the … [Read more...]

Talking Ginger’s Birthday & Talking Friends Prize Pack {Giveaway}

Talking Ginger Birthday Candles

The Talking Friends apps are some of Bryson and Bella's favorite.  They enjoy Talking Tom especially so I knew they'd go crazy for Talking Ginger too.  Talking Ginger is a cat and he's getting ready for bed.  The scene is set in the bathroom where users can brush Ginger's teeth, race to see how fast they can unroll toilet paper while Ginger goes potty, and wash and dry him.  As users accomplish each task, they earn a jigsaw puzzle piece.  Bryson enjoys earning each piece and completing the puzzle.  It's a very cute app so I'm not surprised that it's such a hit with my kids. We were sent a fun Talking Friends prize pack to celebrate Ginger's birthday. Included in the prize pack was a Talking Superstar Ginger which communicates with the Talking Ginger app. The kids love it so much that they fought over it immediately. I explained to them that one could hold the phone and play the app while the other held Superstar Ginger. That worked much better! They both just giggled and … [Read more...]

Exclusive Toys from Target – Gift Ideas for Kids

Exclusive Toys at TargetExclusive Toys at Target

Are you finished with your Christmas shopping? Yeah, me either.  Thankfully, I am finished shopping for the kids.  We have a lot of *ahem* assembly to do over the next few days though.  If you are still hunting for the best and brightest gifts this season for the kids, Target is the place to be.  They offer exclusive toys you won't find anywhere else!  Obviously, there is now way less than 15 shopping days before Christmas, so that's all the more reason to head in to Target and get your shopping done.  Target is also offering free shipping on all of their top toys right now if you want to shop online. I cannot wait to see Bella's eyes light up when she opens the Ultimate Disney Princess Collection.  This set is seriously gorgeous.  I know it looks beautiful online, but I was absolutely wowed when I opened the box to see it in person.  Bella has a few Barbies that have been given to her over time, but this will be her first new set.  Honestly, they are so pretty … [Read more...]

Canvas Bookcase from PersonalCreations.com – Kid Gift Idea

Personalized Canvas Bookcase from Personal Creations

We read to our children daily, usually several times per day.  Bryson has a large bookcase in his room, but we have to keep it closed because Bella likes to throw every. single. book. in the floor and leave them there.  We keep 10-20 books out at a time- their favorites and seasonal or holiday themed books.  Right now, Bryson is really into cowboy & western themed books along with Christmas books.  I found the perfect gift idea for kids that love books from PersonalCreations.com.  I've had my eye on the personalized canvas bookcase for a while, but never ordered it.  It was a treat to work with the folks at PC for the third time and receive such a cute and useful product for review! The canvas bookcase is available in pastel or primary colors.  The pastel bookcase would have looked adorable in Bella's room, but we didn't have room for it so I went with the primary to match Bryson's room.  Instead of getting it personalized with a name, I chose to go with "Books" … [Read more...]

Smart Toss – Learning Resources Review & {Giveaway}

Smart Toss Math Game Learning Resources

With the weather getting colder, I thought the Smart Toss Math Game from Learning Resources would be good for indoor play.  It allows Bryson to run, jump, and throw things while working on number recognition and getting some energy out.  What more could a boy ask for, right?  He will be FOUR next week (O.M.G. How?) so while this game is geared for older children, it's easy to water it down and use for younger kids.  Instead of working on addition and subtraction, we use it for fun and some simple learning. Looking for some major-league math fun? This tossing game targets simple addition and subtraction skills, and is a hole-in-one with young sports fans! Provides 4 different game designs—baseball, bowling, golf and basketball Engages kinesthetic learners with high–interest sports theme Includes 10 canvas bean bags measuring 3" in diameter—enough for small–group play Features handy storage pockets, easy–carry handle, and durable, wipe–clean vinyl surface … [Read more...]

Preschool Picks from Blue Orange Games

Pengoloo from Blue Orange Games

There is nothing Bryson likes more than having one-on-one with his mama and daddy.  No matter what he is doing, we are always invited to do it with him.  If he's building train tracks, he asks us to watch him build or join him.  If he's watching a show, he asks us to sit and watch with him.  He especially loves when we sit and give him our undivided attention.  Don't all kids?  So when I ask if he wants to play a game with me, his face breaks into a wide smile and he usually answers with a very peppy "Sure!"  Our newest game is Pengoloo from Blue Orange Games and it has been a hit. About Blue Orange Games With 10 years experience creating high quality games, exquisitely designed for maximum fun, Blue Orange Games looks to the future with consistent ideals.  Using durable materials, Blue Orange pledges to produce high quality, eco-friendly games.  Blue Orange Games is committed to planting two trees for each one used in game construction.
