Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!

Valentines Day

I had no plans to post anything Valentine's Day related, but when I came across this scripture this morning, I knew it was meant for me to share with you all.  As I've said before, I don't think today is just about romance.  It certainly isn't about chocolates and roses, although those things never hurt.  (haha)  For me, today is about celebrating the love in my life- my husband, my children, my parents, my entire family. How are you celebrating today? … [Read more...]

Focusing on Mom in February

IGB1-1

As part of  my plan for February, I'm focusing on myself.  I think as moms, we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget about or don't make time for ourselves.  As much as I love my family, I have a need for alone time.  I always have and that didn't change just because I became "Mom."  Sometimes, I feel badly for wanting to be away from them, but I've found that by taking that time, I'm a much better wife and mother when we come back together.  Thankfully, Justin is great … [Read more...]

January’s Update – Goals for 2012

2012 Goals

Now that January is wrapping up, I'm taking a moment to look back at my Goals for 2012.  I'm focusing on specific goals each month and hopefully come December 31st, I'll have an almost complete list. During January, I focused on the following: Personal - Complete my photo 365 project. I did miss one day, but I'm not going to let that discourage me.  I'll continue on. -Read the entire Bible by December 31, 2012. I am trying to stay a few days ahead and so far, I'm all caught … [Read more...]

What did I do to deserve this life?

"What did I do to deserve this day?" That's what I asked myself aloud earlier today.  I didn't mean it in a good way though. I was exhausted, exasperated, ready to throw in the towel. Then, as soon as I said it, I thought about it again. "What DID I do to deserve this day?" Two children underfoot. Mine all mine. A little boy who I've been blessed enough to have for three whole years. Mine all mine. Even through the potty accidents, the drawing all over the walls, the … [Read more...]

My Goals for 2012

2012 Goals

I know, right?  I'm a little late to the party, but I didn't even start thinking about my 2012 goals until January1 so I didn't want to rush them.  I've given each aspect of my life a lot of thought and have chosen goals that will make me a better mom, wife, and homemaker.  I know the list looks super long, but I think it's actually quite doable.     Personal Complete my photo 365 project. Continue learning to use my camera. Read the entire Bible by December 31, 2012 … [Read more...]

Three is Tough.

Three

Two was a breeze. Three is kicking our butts. To the point where I'm throwing up my hands and saying "What am I doing wrong!?"  I spend all day every day with this child and that is certainly not the behavior I am modeling for him. Justin is the most laid back, easy going person I've ever known.  Even he is overwhelmed.  This secretly makes me feel better. Just this week, we've packed up most of his toys.  After telling him to pick up his toys 436398 times, I finally just picked … [Read more...]
