Fighting crowds is not my idea of fun. In fact, I went shopping on Black Friday exactly once back in 2007 and haven’t tried it again. Instead, I’ve learned how to save on Cyber Monday and maximize those savings. I’ve found that with a little patience, I can find the same or better deals online by shopping around especially with Cyber Monday sales. I do at least 95% of my Christmas shopping online and only buy things like candy and small stocking stuffers in stores.
How to Save on Cyber Monday
Make a List
Your list should include recipients and gift ideas. If you plan to ship directly to the recipient, go ahead and jot down their address too. The key is to stick to your list. Buying unneeded items simply because they are a bargain will not save you money. Don’t get hung up on every great deal out there- focus on what you want and who you are shopping for this season.
Search for Free Shipping Codes
Before checking out online, always search for a free shipping code. Another option is to look for free site-to-store shipping if the store is local. I very rarely pay for shipping with free shipping codes, site-to-store shipping, and free shipping after X amount spent.
Pair Cyber Monday Sales with Coupon Codes
Many items are marked down on Cyber Monday with no coupons required, but don’t forget to also search for coupon codes to stack with the sales and increase your savings.
Browse Online Forums & Message Boards
One of my favorite ways to learn about hot deals is SlickDeals.net. Other deal hunters share their finds and you’ll often be one of their first to know so you can get in on the deal before it goes viral and/ or sells out.
By making a list, avoiding shipping costs, and stacking coupon codes with sales, you can maximize your savings and get the most bang for your buck- without ever leaving the house!
