Last week, the kids and I were sitting at the dining room table playing with a fresh batch of homemade play dough when out of no where, Bryson asks if we can have a glow stick party later that night. Unsure of exactly what a “glow stick party” consisted of, I agreed anyways because we keep glow sticks on hand. I didn’t think anything else of it until Bryson asked again while we were eating dinner that night.
That was all it took.
After dinner, Justin gathered up our glow stick party kit and went to work. This glow stick party kit on Amazon is very similar to what we used, but I bought ours at Hobby Lobby. Justin created sunglasses, rabbit ears, necklaces, bracelets, etc. He kept going until he had used all of our glow sticks. (Great stocking stuffer idea!)
Then, we turned off all of the lights and turned up the music. Bryson and Bella LOVED it. For the next hour or so, we did nothing but dance, laugh, and play. When bedtime came, the kids went to sleep holding tight to their glow sticks.
We created some fun memories, definitely burned a few calories, and enjoyed quality family time. It’s a great way to beat cabin fever this winter. Throw a glow stick party! I still have no idea where Bryson came up with the glow stick party idea, but I’m sure glad he did!
Oh what fun! We have some glowsticks that we forgot to use on Halloween, perhaps we should follow in your footsteps.
how fun !!!! Wishing you and your Family a Happy Thanksgiving 🙂
I have been raising kids for 20 yrs. and ALWAYS enjoy seeing them play with glow sticks, until Olivia made a mess one morning with them and almost had an ER trip before I even got out of bed. LOL only her! She is my wild child.
Sounds like fun! Will have to try when the little one gets older (:
That looks like so much fun. Now I want to go get some glow sticks and have a glow stick party with my boys.
Kids have the greatest ideas. Glow stick party? Why not.
That is a great idea! Will have to try it when cooped up indoors on a dark winter day.
What a fun idea you have shared for party. Really kids have wonderful ideas and indeed are a great way to remove boredom. Your kids will surely enjoy this family fun party. I will definitely consider your tips for coming festive season. This game is simple, but a river of fun! Glow sticks are great fun when they are twirling through the air. So, crank up your favourite tunes and dance. I’m sure you’ll come up with all kinds of moves to try. We will definitely be using your family night ideas very soon. May God bless you and your babies.
