Nine days into April and so far, it’s been a gorgeous month. The weather is beautiful and the kids have played outside every day. I’m not sure we picked the best time to destroy our yard though. In an effort to make it level, prettier, and better for outdoor play, the entire yard was dug up and turned to dirt. (Thanks, Dad!) Yep, it’s messy. It’s now covered with hay and hopefully, within the next month or so, we’ll have some grass again. Even if the April showers hold off, we’ll be playing inside more this month to avoid the feeling of scratchy, itchy hay. We’ll have to take advantage of local playgrounds and grandparent’s yards too.
I know both kids would rather be outside any day, but we can make staying indoors fun and special too. We enjoyed an indoor picnic today with TCBY frozen yogurt treats. Have you ever had these? I found mine at Walmart with the other frozen treats. Be sure to check out my full shopping trip for more pictures and details. I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly, but they are delicious. I am no longer an ice cream girl, that is for sure. I’m now a TCBY girl. I only wish they had more flavors available.
We purchased a box of chocolate fudge bars, a box of classic vanilla sandwiches, and two pints of supreme cookie and cream frozen yogurt. The chocolate fudge bars didn’t last long enough for our picnic today- they were THAT good. We had family visiting for Easter and the fudge bars were a hit, no one could believe it was frozen yogurt! All I have left of those is an empty box.
For our picnic today, the kids gobbled up the TCBY classic vanilla sandwiches. We liked each TCBY item we bought, but everyone has a favorite. I love the supreme cookies and creme, Justin and Bella like the classic vanilla sandwiches, and Bryson prefers the chocolate fudge bars. We noticed that Bryson can eat ’em up before they melt too, so no mess for him. Bella is another story- she’ll get there one day!
Rainy Day Activity Ideas:
- build a fort
- make homemade play dough
- make slime
- get the kids involved in the kitchen with fun foods
- play hide and seek
- host a coloring contest
- set up a “spa day” with fun nail designs and pampering
- snuggle up in bed and have a book reading marathon
- act out scenes from your favorite children’s books
Those are just a few ideas, but I could go on and on. You can have just as much fun indoors as you can outside!
We will definitely be adding #TCBYGrocery treats to our grocery lists from now on. This is one of those products that I’m so glad I was introduced to and that will become a staple in our house. Bye-bye ice cream. Hello, TCBY frozen yogurt! 🙂
