I shopped at Publix last week as part of the Good and Good for You Challenge. The nearest one is about an hour drive, so it isn’t my regular grocery stop. I was absolutely amazed at the selection, especially compared to our little grocery stores. The produce selection alone blew me away and I bought ingredients that I had never even saw before! Not only that, but I was impressed at the amount of organic products offered. If you have a large grocery store like Publix, be thankful and enjoy it for me. Oh, how I wish we had one!
We’ll be trying several new recipes over the coming weeks starting with the Pork Tenderloin Sliders recipe I shared Saturday.
Breakfast
Baked Oatmeal
Cereal
Waffles
Strawberry-Banana Smoothies
Lunch
Pigs in a Blanket
Macaroni & Cheese with Peas
Leftovers
Dinner
Pork Chops
Mexican Filling with Nachos & Burritos
Loaded Baked Potato Soup
Spaghetti
Grilled Chicken Salad
I’ll be sharing the pork chop recipe later in the week. What are you having this week?
I do love our Publix. The produce is definitely better than what I normally see at Kroger, but the overall prices are a bit higher. I generally do my normal shopping at Kroger and then head to Publix for the meat and produce.
I love Publix, but it’s about a 35 minute drive from my house. But so are most places worth shopping at! I try to make the drive once a week because their BOGO deals are amazing.
By the way, I just found your blog through a comment you left on Kindred Spirit Mommy. I’m also in a small town in Alabama and have a baby born last year (Feb 2011). 🙂
a smoothie sounds really good right now.
