According to the 4 Ingredients Cookbook, the answer is yes.
Internationally bestselling authors Kim McCosker and Rachael Bermingham have created more than 400 quick, easy, and delicious recipes that only require four ingredients. Included are fantastic dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and entertaining, as well as meals specially designed for children, including lunchbox menus.
With 4 Ingredients, home chefs will learn how to:
* Make weeknight family dinners simple and special.
* Provide delicious, home-cooked meals and spend less money.
* Cook with fewer utensils—1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon, and 1 measuring cup!
* Spend less time at the sink. Four ingredients for each dish means less cleanup!
The 4 Ingredients Cookbook, as you can imagine, contains mostly simple recipes. A lot of the recipes use processed and boxed foods, which I don’t keep on hand. I prefer to cook for scratch if at all possible. For this reason, this is the best cookbook for me. Now, if you are a beginner cook or just like to just packaged foods to throw a meal together quickly, this would be a great addition to your kitchen shelf.
There were a few recipes, mostly snacks and appetizers, that I actually had made before browsing this cookbook. The French Onion Dip, Egg in the Hole, and Pepperoni Pizza recipes are all snacks/ meals that we enjoy.
I’ve spotted some recipes that I’m going to try soon, but I’ll probably add other ingredients too. In some of the recipes, you’ll find an “optional” section listen below with other ingredients. I’ve found that most of the recipes actually need the “optional” ingredients. The “4 ingredient” guideline is limiting. It’s easy to throw in a few more ingredients though.
I received a copy of the 4 Ingredients cookbook to review, but no other compensation was provided. All opinions remain my own, as always.
